Headaches and Migraine
Headaches are generally classified as either tension headaches or cluster headaches.
Tension headaches are usually a dull throbbing pain on both sides of the head, whereas cluster headaches normally occur on one side of the head and centred on the eye area.
Headaches on their own often result from chronic neck and shoulder tension, eye strain, emotional or mental stress, nutritional upsets, withdrawal symptoms and dehydration to name a few.
Migraines on the other hand may start as a headache and build up to a crescendo causing suffering in the form of irritability, nausea, spots before the eyes, sensitivity to light and depression if they are on-going.
Migraines can be triggered by food and alcohol, i.e. wine (predominantly red wine) and chocolate, unresolved emotional stress, physical exertion and premenstrual.
Very simply the reason you are experience some form of head pain is due to the changes in blood flow to the brain.
At Bodi Wellness, the focus is on those who have a history of headaches or migraines that have not been resolved by standard medical care. Using Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy helps to identify whether the cause stems from the central nervous system or is triggered by other factors, such as an imbalance or restriction elsewhere in the body.
